Last week we posted a curved piecing tutorial to help you conquer your fear of Drunkard’s Path quilt blocks. So this week here is a tutorial by Dani, of Knit, Stitch, Click, for the most gorgeous Wee Animal Quilt project all made with Drunkard’s Path or quarter circle quilt blocks.
Isn’t that just the cutest quilt? Everybody saw, “Awwwwww!” The blocks are 5 1/2 inches finished and the quilt is about 45 inches square. This project would make the sweetest baby quilt!
Here’s a quick mock-up of what a Kiwi might look like made from quarter circle blocks, with embroidered beak, eyes and feet.
What animals can you think of? How about a butterfly made with two quarter circle blocks placed like a bow-tie and some embroidered antenna? I wonder how you could make a Kakapo? Time to get out the coloured pencils and start creating your own Wee Animal Quilt project.
If you choose to use Dani’s template, make sure you print it out at 100%. When you press print, a box should come up with all your printer info. Check that the scale box says 100%. You do not want it to say ‘fit to page’ or anything similar.
