Easy Quilted Christmas Tree

It’s a little late for this Christmas, but I love this easy quilted Christmas tree idea. They are no sew, so involve hardly any time and would be a great Mum and daughter activity. It’s not really quilting, but a great way to get a younger child excited about using fabric. This easy DIY project would be perfect for a late Christmas present or very early preparation for next year 😉 Making these Christmas Trees involves using up any Christmas quilting scraps from more adventurous projects and using layers of triangles built up on a cone, attached with pins. You will find a polystyrene cone at a local craft shop for a few dollars. The end result is quite cute, in fact I think I’m heading off to make one myself! Holiday decorating is fun!

Tarnya is Quilting Focus' webmaster and a beginner quilter who hasn’t ventured much outside pre-cuts and quilting in the ditch. She is excited by modern short cut quilting techniques which makes quilting so much more achievable for those who are quite short on time. She enjoys making quilts for her children who she says do not notice mistakes and feel loved by what she makes. "I appreciate how learning and improving my quilting, cross pollinates into other creative areas of my life: for example colour, balance, proportion are important to quilting, but they are also important to web design."
